Today at Powhatan High school we had our first Medford game of the year! You might ask what is a Medford game? Our home starting line up is Jah’Nie Youmans-Jackson #1, Josiah Brooks #2, Helen Turner #3, Matthew Langfitt #3, Bowen Turner #13, Stephen Cortez Johnson Jr #14, Nate Maliff#21, Jimmy Thomas #22, Brady Garrett #23, Kyle Burgmaster #24, Ethan Swan, Dottie Crotts, Hailey Jo Ricker, Nikky Yanguez, Cooper Sturat and last but surely not least is Nicholas Benton. Today Thursday January 15 we played against Monacan. The Medford game started off with the national anthem. Kyle Burgmaster sang for us indians and did a beautiful job with it. Once the game started our starting line up was Brady Garrett, Kyle Burgmaster, Cooper Stuart, Stephen Cortez Johnson and Matthew Langfitt. At half time the score was 12-16. We had a big comeback at the end and were 34 to 34. This made us go into a gnarly overtime of a whole two minutes! During these two minutes Monacans players scored two points which made us end with a hard earned 34 to 36.
