Mrs. Campbell is one of the Spanish and French teachers at Powhatan High School. She is a wonderful teacher and we are so happy to have her.
Q: When coming into teaching, what did you expect? What was it really like for you?
A: I expected to make connections with kids, and for them to take my class because they had some degree of interest in learning a language. I made great connections and met amazing kids; but I did not always have motivated students.
Q: What was your favorite year of teaching and why?
A: 2016-17. Great bunch of kids, as in good human beings and good students as well. Many fun memories in and out of the classroom – including a trip to Costa Rica for Spring Break 2017 with Mr. Miller.
Q: What is one of the craziest moments that stands out in your years of teaching?
A: I have to go with the post Covid year. Teaching kids wearing a mask, making it so difficult to connect with everyone.
Q: What is your favorite part of teaching and why?
A: Meaningful conversations with the students. A sense of making a difference for the best in students’ life.
Q: What is one piece of life advice you can give to your students for their future?
A: Take time to figure out who you are and what your core values are. Once you’ve done that, stick to it and do not let others define you.
Mrs.Campbell has done so much for our school and we really appreciate her. She is always in high spirits and does a great job helping everyone learn. She has always been passionate about her job and works very well with her students.
