If you’ve ever been driving along Old Buckingham road you’ve likely passed a quaint coffee shop called Rise and Grind. Many people here in Powhatan go there regularly now, but in 2021 it wasn’t as well known.

Opened by Shannon Croll and run by her and her husband. The coffee shop sits between Maxey’s and County Seat. Being the perfect location for those who work at Powhatan Middle School to get coffee on their way home!

They offer a variety of seasonal coffees, their fall coffees including a campfire smores mocha and a chocolate cold foam cold brew! They also have a bakery case full of muffins, coffee cakes, and different types of bread, they even offer gluten free options. They also have bagels and other specialty goods. One of their best known items is their ice cream, being perfect for kids!
