Powhatan highschool offers a club called Kind Club that is run by Mrs.Hudson; an english teacher at PHS. The club is full of students who have the drive to spread positivity throughout their community. This club does things like food drives, feeding the homeless, writing thank you cards to staff, and participating in school events.
Just recently Kind club participated in the club fair getting tons of sign ups and lots of flyers handed out. Students had the opportunity to come to the Kind club table and learn about all the things they offer and what their goals are for the school year.
Kind club also hosted a schoolwide food drive this past year collecting tons of cans and non perishable food items. Kind club then donated these items to their local food shelter. This year, the kind club hopes to beat last year’s number of items collected.
Kind club also participated in the Powhatan high school’s bonfire this past Tuesday. There, they had a balloon popping game handing out candy and bracelets informing people of all ages on how they can be kind.
All are welcome to join at any time and they hope to expand and grow as a club. As the Kind club says “Be kind, do good.”
