Campus Safety Meeting

PHS just hosted an information session for Junior and Senior girls to learn how to be safe on their respective college campuses. A college campus safety professional came to PHS to run the session. They discussed all things safety.

The meeting was held in the auditorium during Indian time on Friday, April 12. Students were encouraged to sign up with the link on Schoology. Students were required to fill out a permission slip to attend the session.

This meeting was very important for Female Upperclassmen to attend. Upcoming college students should always be prepared, and while we shouldn’t have to live in a world where we have to train female students on how to be safe from other students, this is our reality, so this training could save a life one day.

Colleges do their best to keep their campus safe for students, but unfortunately cannot prevent everything, especially at parties and other social events. By attending this meeting students will have more information and training to protect themselves at college.

The meeting was completely free. In addition students who attended were entered to win a free personal safety device just for attending the meeting. Personal safety devices can range from personal sized alarms, pepper spray, or even devices used to defend themselves.
