Reverend Jesse Jackson, Civil Rights activist, politician, and Baptist minister, passed away February 17, 2026. Born: October 8, 1941, Greenville, South Carolina. He became one of the most prominent civil rights leaders of the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Jackson was educated at North Carolina A&T, a historically Black university, where he was a quarterback and was elected student body president. After graduating, he attended Chicago Theological Seminary. He leaves behind his wife, Jacqueline, and five children.
