The PHS Wrestling team has started off their season with a bang! This talented group of dedicated athletes continue to push themselves to excellence.

In previous years, the Indians have established their name in the wrestling community. The Powhatan wrestling team has taken the Region 4b crown for the last two years in a row. Also, many alumni and returning wrestlers have contributed to this team’s growing greatness. This extensive list includes Mitchell Johnson, the 2022 State Champion, and Senior Natalia Sanchez who earned state titles in her junior year at the VAWA Folkstyle Championships and the Virginia Girls Championship. She was also recently awarded the Jackie Toney Scholarship this past weekend while competing in the Christiansburg Tournament. 

This Saturday, January 28th, the Indians host the 2023 Arrowhead Invitational at Powhatan High School. This event starts in the morning at 9:00 and you will not want to miss it!
