For the first time in 2 years prom is finally back. On May 14, Powhatan High School hosted prom at the Science Museum of Virginia’s Thalhimer Pavilion from 6:30-10:30. The junior class prom committee clearly worked hard on the tasteful decorations used for the space.

“Prom was a night to remember ” a couple of students stated. The dance included Powhatan alumni Shawn Minor as DJ, setting the tone with music as students walked to the pavilion. The dance floor became packed quickly as the night went on, and it was great seeing friends invited from other schools.

The food provided from students parents was the most talked about topic of the night. The food included Chick-fil-a nuggets,a variety of candy, a variety of chips, a donut tower, fruit, and drinks.

To top it all off each student who attended the prom was entered into a raffle. The raffle included a speaker,a tv,and an apple watch. The students who received these were able to pick them up the Monday following prom.

A special shout-out to the teachers who chaperoned, the parents who put time into the event, the SCA and BIG THANKS to Mrs.Ashman and Mrs. McQuiddy for making the night happen!
