This year’s Christmas Mother is Amien Dulio! The Christmas mother helps those who are less fortunate and need some extra assistance. If families are interested in getting extra help this Christmas, they can pick up an application at the Powhatan library or the Free Clinic of Powhatan. Applications are also available on the Powhatan Christmas Mother website.
Complete applications will be accepted at the library every Wednesday in October from 5 to 7 p.m. and every Saturday from October 12 to November 2.
The Powhatan Christmas Mother also hosts a Home Tour that is November 23rd from 1 to 4 p.m. The cost is $35 for advanced tickets and $40 for the day of tickets. Some important notes are to please wear flat shoes, no photos allowed, and steps will be included in some homes.
We also have the Powhatan Christmas Mother Parade going on at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 6. The parade begins at the intersection of Old Buckingham Road and Mann Road and will move down Mann Road all the way through Courthouse area.
