Have you or someone you know gone through the battle of breast cancer? Many people have fought and survived breast cancer, while others have fought and not survived. October is breast cancer awareness month. In October, we support those who have been through this struggle and remember the loved ones we lost due to it. Breast cancer is a malignant disease that usually occurs in the breast tissue. It occurs like other cancers, when abnormal cells rapidly multiply uncontrollably in the breast tissue.
A pink ribbon is often associated with Breast Cancer Awareness Month as a symbol of support. Not many people know the reason pink is worn for breast cancer. The color pink is used to show femininity, compassion, and hope for those suffering. While men can still be diagnosed with breast cancer, it is far more likely to occur in women. Approximately 99% of breast cancer diagnoses are in women, while only 1% are in men.
To everyone who has been through breast cancer or has a loved one who has been through it, be strong and keep your head up!
