According to a study done by The Acoustical Society of America, when participants played relaxing and calm beat charts their energy levels went up. Although, when playing faster and more difficult beat charts, there was high frustration levels along with feeling pressured.
In another study done by the National Library of Medicine, participants ended up feeling significantly less anxious or worried about possible stress factors in their day to day lives after playing rhythm games casually for 1 month!
