April 18th is national exercise day, a day to spread awareness about staying fit and healthy with exercise. There are many ways to exercise such as going for a walk, a run, swimming, lifting weights, and even stretching.
Staying fit with exercise is important because without exercise our bodies wouldn’t be able to do everyday tasks without getting tired. Keeping endurance with exercise helps prevent being fatigued after simple tasks. It’s very smart to keep a minimum of 15 minute exercise into your daily routine.
Not only is exercise good for your body it is also beneficial to your mental health. Keeping your mind healthy with exercise is important to stay centered and be more stress-free.
If you’re in Powhatan in need of a public space for exercise we have Pocahontas Park, Fighting Creek Park, Powhatan State Park, YMCA, Epic Fit, and Black Hawk Gym. Some of these places do require memberships but some are free to the community.
Don’t be afraid to get your exercise on!
