As we head toward the end of the school year final exams are coming up. Here we’ll list everything seniors need to know about upcoming exams.
Students will need to take final exams in all courses. However, students could be exempt from taking a final exam in a course if they meet the following criteria:
Advanced Placement: 5 or fewer absences in S2 AND student participates in the AP Exam for the course
CTE Courses: 5 or fewer absences in S2 AND student takes and passes the CTE credentialing test for the course
Dual Enrollment: 5 or fewer absences in S2 AND student participates in the DE Exam for the course
Edmentum/Apex: 5 or fewer absences in S2 AND students have a B or better in the course
Non- SOL Courses: 5 or fewer absences in S2 AND student has a B or better for S2 OR complete all components of their Regular/Honors English 12 Senior Capstone project
SOL Courses: 5 or fewer absences in S2 AND student passes their SOL for the course / be eligible for an SOL retake for the course and takes the retake
Virtual Virginia: Virtual Virginia requires all students to take the midterm and final. There are no exemptions for Virtual Virginia Courses.
Senior Exams will take place Monday May 12 to Wednesday May 14. Students will be notified on Tuesday May 6 and Wednesday May 7 if they need to take any exams.
