The story behind the adult cartoon American Dad is quite interesting. It was first created with the intention of replacing the failed show, Family guy. But, they filmed the show as a way to express their frustration with the Bush administration after President George Bush was elected in 2000. Yes the show was created in frustration but it also was quite entertaining. The father of the SMith family, Stan, works for the CIA and all the dark humor involved. Which is why it was considered an adult show. Votes show that Season 6, episode 9, “Rapture’s Delight” is the darkest.
They say the episodes, “rabbit Ears,” “The Two Hundred,” “For Whom the Sleigh Bell Tolls,” and then of course ” Raptures Delight” are the best episodes for the dark humor and entertainment. One of the main characters,Roger, is more of a sociopath in the show. He’s cruel, selfish, devious, and such a depraved behavior. Stan Smith, the dad is kinda the opposite though. He exaggerates politics, has conservative views, and has very many extreme reactions. The characters each represent American culture. Politics, and family dynamics. As i said before, American dad is considered for adults or older teenagers for the language and the topics of conversation through out the series. They recommend kids under 13 not to watch it because it’s not appropriate for the young ears.
