President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine arrived in Washington DC on Friday February 28th to discuss relations between America and Ukraine with President Trump and Vice President JD Vance, you could say that this meeting did not go as well as President Zelensky planned. Throughout the meeting tensions were high between everyone, including when President Trump and JD Vance accused President Zelensky of being ungrateful and at risk of causing World War 3. President Zelensky had hoped that this meeting  would focus on continued military assistance in the Ukrainian-Russian War, as well as relevant legislative initiatives and overall lasting peace in Europe. 

While President Trump had JD Vance and others, President Zelensky did not travel alone along with him were Ukrainian Chief-of-Staff, Andriy Yermak, and Ukraines Minister of Defense, Rustem Umerov. A few days after the meeting on March 4, 2025, President Trump received a letter from President Zelensky stating that Ukraine would be ready to come to the negotiating table, also stating that Ukrainians have only ever wanted this kind of peace.
