Coming from the only ceramics student in here, Jane Myers presents 4 different pieces. First of which being a simple and cute cat another being a coil pot coating with clear glaze. One of the first projects of the year was a simple pinch pot but she would add these beautiful swirl like patterns to the cup. Lastly is a red pot used to practice with creating a flared top. Despite the simplicity these are well shaped for the beginning of the year, promising just as lovely work for 2025.
Peyton Ledford would create a piece for mental health awarness month, brandishing the symbol of suicide prevention upon a the wrist of an arm through the sea of swirls. Overall it’s a great use of multimedia with a sharpie for the swirling sea, clouds made from water color and the centerpiece being made of what seems like excellent pencil work.
Presented by Shane Hargitt is several pieces on one canvas of charcoal creation. Such images contain a hand encompassing a skull in its grip, aspects hanging from the skull connected by string and veins. The meaning of the piece truly being up to the viewer with such eye catching imagery.
A waterfall of acrylic creation done by Naomi Vanschalkwijk presents a delightfully pleasing and detailed image of flowing water with surrounding flora and the rocky cliffs. While off in the distance the clouds are filled with a beautiful sense of realism with such perfect shading.
Coming from Ismerai Marron is the only showcased piece of a real person. Made of just pencil, she shows brilliant use of shading on the attire of the man and especially his hair. Her work on the hair is gorgeous and is wonderfully articulated.
This calming piece of art comes from the brain and skill of McKenna Edwards-Simmons. A pointed building made with golden reflective paint with lines detailing the length of the structure. Backed by an incoming dusk and fluffy clouds sailing overhead.
A web or pattern stretches from the mind of the ram but also perhaps its author, Marlee Arsenault. Light sprouts from their mind as a wave fills the page with a warm and abstract feeling.
Two 3 dimensional pieces submitted from Maya Lesine present various Ideas. The first of which being a reddened eye crying tears of red or perhaps blood? Looking into the eyes doesn’t just show reflections of light but jaws coming towards it. The second piece depicts a hospital bed with figures above watching and caring for the bedridden individual.
