Last thursday during Indian time students attended a performance in the courtyard from Senior and local singer Landyn Llewellyn. He sang a few songs for the crowd and blew everyone away.
While the performance was spectacular the cause behind it was even better. Landyn partnered with the CBI class which is PHS’s class for students with intellectual disabilities to learn valuable life skills. Which is exactly what Landyn helped them do.
Students in the CBI classes practiced life skills such as interacting with people, scanning barcodes, and taking tickets. The object of the event was to teach the students in the CBI class how to use a scanner.
A scanner is a tool that is used in so many jobs as well as events including Walmart, grocery stores, concerts, sporting events, plays, etc. At the concert students from the class scanned each ticket to let people in and another student collected the tickets.
Landyn preformed so the students could practice their life skills they had been learning in class. This is so important because this will help the students succeed in future careers.
We would like to give a huge shoutout to Landyn for his dedication and kindness to perform for such a good cause. We encourage you to check out his social media to see where he is performing and going to support him if you can.
