As homecoming is quickly approaching, there are lots of fun activities and events to look forward to. However we know that there are a lot of dates, times, and themes to keep up with, so that is why we are talking about everything homecoming. All of the information for homecoming and the week leading up will be here.
To start off the week on Monday October 7, there will be a dress up day. The theme will be Country vs Country club. This is where students can dress in either country which is western or camo clothes or country club which are tennis skirts, dresses, polos and khakis etc.
On Tuesday October 8, the theme will be “dress like a star” day. This means students can dress up as their favorite celebrity. This can be anything from Taylor Swift to Pitbull or your favorite athlete.
Tuesday night from 6-9 will be the community bonfire. This is a free event for anyone in the community. There will be the bonfire, smores, face painting, and fall festival activities hosted by various clubs and groups throughout the school.
Wednesday’s theme for the day will be Rhyme Without a Reason. This is a theme we’ve seen in previous years and is a favorite with the students. This is a group theme where groups of students will dress up as things that rhyme. An example is dairy and fairy. One person dresses like a cow or in a cow print and one person dresses like a fairy.
Thursday is class color day. Freshman are red, Sophomores are green, Juniors are pink, and Seniors are blue. Thursday is also the homecoming assembly where the homecoming court will perform skits. The assembly will be from 10:10-11:20 am.
The homecoming assembly is different from the pep rallies. Students will stay seated and remain silent during performances. However students are still encouraged to cheer and participate when appropriate. The homecoming court will also be presented at the assembly as well.
Friday is orange and black day. Freshman are orange, black, and white, Sophomores are orange, Juniors are white, and Seniors are black. The homecoming pep rally will be during 7th block from 2-2:40. There will be games, performances from the choir, dance team, and cheer team, and of course the spirit competition to see what class will claim the spirit stick.
Friday night will also be the homecoming football game. Before the game there will be the homecoming parade at 5:30 where the homecoming court along with clubs and organizations will have floats and trucks. The homecoming game will be at 7 against Cosby. The theme is orange and black. The homecoming king and queen will be announced during half time as well.
The homecoming dance will be Saturday, October 12 at the school from 7:30 to 10:30. The theme is “Into the Night”. Tickets are $15 dollars if you buy them prior to the dance and $20 dollars if you purchase them the night of. Tickets can be purchased at the concession stand during Indian time.
