With the 2024- 2025 school year starting, that also means Football games. School starting is dreaded for many, but with fall sports starting it gives students something to look forward to.
The Indians had their first scrimmage on 8/22 against Freemen. This gave coach Henderson, as well as fans, a glimpse of what to look forward to this season.
This fall will look a little different for the Indians with a new quarterback replacing senior Matthew Layman from the 2023 season. Matthew went on to play football for the Richmond Spiders. This year stepping into his shoes is Junior Elliot Murphy. We also have Penn State commit Matt Henderson, as well as, Ben Whitver a Junior with 7 offers as of now. Both of these players leading the scoring for their team. The Indians also have many other players that show great hope for this season.
The first home game of the season will be on September 6th against Mechanicsville. Kickoff is at 7pm and with it being the first game the crowd is expected to be big. The theme for this game is neon so make sure to wear bright colors.
This season the Indians have 6 home games: the first one against Mechanicsville then Manchester, Huguenot, Cosby (homecoming game), Monacan, and George Wythe. Themes for these games can be found on class pages on Instagram.
The Indians look to find their first win of the season with this home game kickoff. It is expected to be a good season for this team as they hope to find many wins home as well as away.
