Powhatan Boys Lacrosse

Powhatan+Boys+Lacrosse

The Spring Sports seasons at Powhatan High School are coming to an end. With this, the Boys Lacrosse team is wrapping up their season.

This year they had 7 Away games as well as 6 Home games. They ended the season 5-8 and ranked 6th out of 10th in the Dominion Region.

Their first game was against Cosby on March 18 which was unfortunately a loss as well as their first Home game on March 20 against Manchester that ended in defeat. The Indians earned their first win at Home against Mechanicsville with a score of 11-4.

This varsity roster was made up of 30 players, 15 being seniors. Senior night took place on May 10th against Clover Hill with a win 21-5 and Senior celebrations starting at 5:30. 5 of these seniors are planning to continue playing in college. These players include Max King, Conner Kluis, Luca Blevins, Carter Zaun, and Jacob Hanna. Luca Blevins as well as Jacob Hanna had their official signing day Luca signing to St. Vincent and Jacob to Randolph College.

The Powhatan Boys Lacrosse team had a great season filled with lots of great moments. They have had some amazing wins as well as tough losses, but ultimately a great season.

Hailey Ragland is a sophomore at Powhatan high school and is part of the class of 2026. This is her first year in journalism and is really looking forward to it. Outside of school, Hailey enjoys playing volleyball and hopes to attend a four year college and play volleyball. Hailey is an active member in the PHS community she is part of class council and SGA as well as taking part in many clubs. She feels the news is important because it is important people are informed about what is going on in the world around them.
