PHS Varsity Winter Percussion Maintains World Ranking

The Powhatan High School Varsity Winter Percussion travelled to Dayton, Ohio this past weekend to compete in the Winter Gaurd International percussion/winds world championship. The competition was fierce, with 32 teams competing against them in the Varsity devision; but PHS fought hard and earned

their placements.

Guard leader, LeeAnna Wilson, represented the PHS Varsity Winter Percussion on the Student Government Association Instagram page with frequent story updates and live videos.

Varsity indoor percussion made it to semi-finals and placed 18th overall and Powhatan open concert made it to finals and placed 5th. The groups worked hard over the past year to perfect their pieces entitled “Dreamscape” for percussion and “Submerged” for open concert.
